Travel Project Due week of FEBRUARY 24th
Check off each of the following as you complete them:
Together as a group:
__Look at a map to see where you are going – your city ( side trips) in your country.
__Find your flights. Tienes equipaje de mano. ( You have only carry on bag – no checked luggage)
__Go to Wikipedia to read general information about your city – what does it have to offer? You will want to learn about….
__ its history,
__its place in the history of the whole country,
__its place in the history of other countries or civilizations,
__art ( what and where and who)
__architecture ( what and where and who)
__ music and dance,
__food
__ places to see and things to do
__Delegate each of your group members to explore a different aspect.
Use FROMMER’s, FODOR’s Travel guides, Rick Steves’ travel, Trip Advisor, Tourism websites for the city
__Find a place to stay and the way to get around the city to see the sights. Find bus station or train station if you are taking a day trip outside the city. Choose a place that allows you to walk to many sights or is near public transportation, if you can. Consider a youth hostel instead of a hotel, if you want to stretch your dollars.
__You MUST visit the places / explore the topics/people listed on your paper. They may lead you to more places/people/topics of interest, but you must do a complete exploration of what’s listed.
__Keep track of your expenses ( museum entry fees, transportation by bus or metro, lodging)
__You will be recreating ( to the best of your ability) the signature dish of the city you are visiting and bringing it in to share with the class.
