The man at the desk told me that the monuments, cafes and bus stop are far from the hotel and that this is a dangerous neighborhood. Didn't you read about the city before you chose this hotel? (escoger = to choose ( Ch 2B)
HOMEWORK : DO the rest of the sentences above that we didn't get to in class. Your TEST will be just like this -- using our new vocabulary in sentences. You must know past tenses ( endings and irregulars) and the reflexive, indirect object and direct object pronouns we have worked with.

We bought gifts in a store on the famous bridge in Florence. We were staying in a hotel in Piazza Republica where the market is located, but we didn’t like anything in the market.
VERBS: a list of verbs we have recently worked with was requested. It was on the board -- here they are:
cambiar, esperar (includes "for), escoger ( escojo), buscar ( includes "for), comprar, disfutar (de), quesdarse, volver ( ue), devolver (ue), enviar, llegar, salir, llevar, quitar, quitarse, poner (pongo), ponerse, manejar, pasar, poder (ue), venir (vengo, ie), abrir, cerrar
Also, review your Dirty Dozen ( preterite irregulars: DDEHIPPQSSTTVV) and remember that ir (iba), ser (era), and ver (vei'a ) are the only 3 irregulars in the imperfect.

all students speak for 1 minute about their week. Grading according to fluency, variety of vocabulary, use of past tenses.
Highest mark: Would someone who spoke only Spanish understand you?
Satisfactory mark: Would someone who spoke Spanish but was familiar with English understand you?
Lowest mark: string together vocabulary words without proper verbs, word order, prepositions. Or unable to speak for a minute.Read Lazarillo. and discuss in Spanish.
